ALSO Communication - April 9, 2020

Hello ALSO Families,

We hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. With the health of our players, coaches, referees, families and community in mind, ALSO is canceling the Spring 2020 travel and recreation soccer seasons. As a result, a credit will be issued for each currently registered player returning for the 2020-2021 season. Credits will be issued as a code to be entered when registering a player for the 2020-2021 travel and recreation seasons as follows:

Travel: $100 credit for 2019-2020 registered travel players to be applied to the 2020-2021 season.

Recreation: $45 credit for 2019-2020 registered recreation players to be applied to the 2020-2021 season.

Although the spring season will not be played this year and our fields remain closed until further notice, ALSO is still responsible for maintaining the various Avon Lake soccer fields used for ALSO practices and games. Accepting a credit for the 2020-2021 season helps ALSO maintain the fields so they are ready to go when the 2020-2021 season begins.

ALSO understands that this pandemic affects each family differently. For this reason, upon email request, partial refunds will be issued: $100 for travel players and $45 for recreation players. If requesting a refund, please email your request to Matt Slates at matt8734@gmail.com, and include the player’s name(s) – this makes it easier to quickly process requests. All refund requests must be received no later than May 1st. Travel and recreation players registered for ONLY Spring 2020 will automatically receive a full refund – no need to email.

To keep your child engaged and interested in soccer, the Ohio Travel Soccer League (OHTSL) plans to post footskill challenges every few days – ALSO will share these posts through the ALSO Facebook page. For now, this link may help when you hear “I’m bored!” and “there is nothing to do!”:

When the uncertainty begins to clear, ALSO will send information regarding the 2020-2021 season, including registration links and travel tryout dates. If and when possible this summer, we will look for opportunities to have open field nights and training sessions.

Thank you for your continued support of the ALSO travel and recreation programs. We are excited for a great 2020-2021 season once this is all behind us!

Sincerely,

The ALSO Board
